I just tried a new recipe......well, it's very old, just new to me. It's for Sausage Bread. You use raw pork sausage, sugar, eggs mixed together, with raisins, flour, etc. The mix of sausage, sugar and eggs was so nasty to work with. It looked like I butchered a hog in my kitchen. It slopped and slimed all over the place. I'm kinda picky about cleanliness (regarding raw meat, not regular dirt) so I had a heck of a time cleaning it all up.
It's in the oven now. It better be good!

Haha, the mix of the sausage, sugar and eggs got everywhere. It was kind of slimy, and stringy, and red, and....

I try not to plan much ahead of time. This might be a way to avoid disappointment. It might be a human failing.

Long ago, the idea of "adjust and adapt" was taken on as words to live by. It might have been a defense for sudden changes. It might have been as an effort to add interest to everyday existence.

The clock and calendar command my life even now in retirement. A destination appears to me. It's ahead in my day, week, month. My route is far from predetermined.

I don't believe that I give any appearance to drive in a random fashion. I'd far rather miss a turn than perform an unusual maneuver on the street. I hate appearing to be an idiot, have few skills in competitive racing, and, besides, a slight error provides opportunity to be creative in performance while, maybe, experiencing something new.

Oh yes, I like flawless performance. I more than like it; I revel and celebrate it! It just doesn't always happen - in fact, seldom enough that my life would grind to a stop if I had much expectation for it.

Give me the opportunity to decide at every intersection, 3 (or more!) choices to advance and delight has been ladled onto my day like gravy on my biscuits! Allow me to find myself on new terrain and neighborhoods often and novelty has entered my life like cinnamon and nutmeg on my tapioca pudding!

:) Steve

It was good. Strange but good. Very dense. I don't know if I'll make it again. Would be easier if I had a mixer on a stand. And a tube pan.
But, Hey, I made a one-pan meal last night that was yummy and healthy. I'll go put it on a separate post.
