Decided, a while back, that I needed to put in a couple of boxes (for tomatoes, eggplants, ect., that needed to be sure to get watered) closer to a water source. The only sensible place had two, largely, unproductive 20 year old peach trees in "the way".
Soooooo.......

Perfect! You will be happy to have them so close to the hose! Love the cold frames in the background... Got any compost to fill those beds????

Maybe you will try what I do. Cover that area inside the frames with newspaper (wet it as you go so it won't blow away) 5 or 6 layers deep. Add a thick (3") layer of compost, another thick layer of browns, a thin layer of chopped produce, a thin layer of grass clippings, and another thick layer of your compost. Wait until spring and you are ready to plant! Actually, you could just wet the layers as you go and plant right away! Have fun!

Thought about that "Lasagna" method.

Boggy, is all that space yours? I could just dream of having that much room! I'm thinking of removing a rose bush that isn't doing to well to have room for one more tomatoe plant! This is what I have to do. Give something up in order to plant something else. :(

Yeah, Mary......It's only an acre. Originally had 3.88 acres, but when Jimmie got "sick" and I couldn't work, we had to sell 2.88 acres.
