Most of my beans are doing very well but a couple aren't doing so hot. Any idea what is up with these two?

The top one still has leaves developing but the bottom one does not.

Here is the whole tray:

Did you use garden soil in your starting tray?

The photo in the middle looks like it's been eaten by a bug to my old eyes.

Harder to tell in the top photo, but looks like bugs there too.

Maybe grubs of some kind.

I have these grubby little tiny white worms that eat my bean sprouts when I plant them directly in the garden. And they do end up looking suspiciously like your pictures...spotty bad areas, and pieces laying on the ground. I'm not sure what those worms are, but I did spray mine with some kind of insecticidal soap and that helped. It was only when they were very small sprouts that I had any kind of problems, so I just watched closely as they were coming up, and sprayed if it seemed like something was chewing on them. Once the sprouts were a couple inches tall they were fine.

:yuckyuck ... been hit'n the vanilla again bay? :D

I have had a few beans sprout in the garden like that also, usually just a few though and the rest are fine. I will have to look at them closer next time, I usually just pull 'em and re-seed some if needed.
