I have never planted lettuce and want to know if it is too late to plant for spring? I am in zone 6a, Franklin county, IN.

If you think you have a month of below 75% weather you can plant them now. You can also plant them in open shade to extend the season. I like oak leaf lettuce late in the season. It never gets bitter as some others do if the weather turns hot.

Thanks hoodat! I will give it a try. It's great that your still gardening and on the computer in your 80's. My uncle also gardened while in his 80's. You guys have a lot of wisdom to impart. Thanks and keep on keeping on.
