How do I find my zone? I very much want to be "in "the zone, I just don't know how to find it!;)

Here is one link:

http://www.usna.usda.gov/Hardzone/ushzmap.html

Actually I read somewhere recently that the USDA was in the process of redrawing the hardiness zones and I believe it is scheduled to be released sometime later this year. Of course that is subject to my memory, or lack there of.

Hope this helps.

I think my sig line has a link to the hardiness zones...I hope. lol

edited to say..."Yep...there it is!" lol

Thanks! I have found my gardening identity!

I am a 7....now to find out what that means!:)

For the annual veggie garden, it means very little.

. . . for perennial fruits - maybe quite a lot.

To give you an idea of what I'm talking about: Bellingham Washington (just south of Vancouver BC on Puget Sound) is probably a zone 7, also.

Give that some thought, DesertGirl . . . ;)

I was just thinking that after doing a little research...seems a little crazy, the vastly different climates in the same "zone"...I guess I'll just keep learning.

Primarily it is used as a gauge for first/last frosts, right?:/

Should I have said Bellingham is on the Strait of Georgia north of the Puget Sound?

Here's another question: If you were there now, SMom, would the word "desert" occur to you as a description of your surroundings?
