Oh, that cabbage hurts. I've had them like that before.

It's just dried up enough for me to get in my garden and start cleaning out weeds. Some were well over knee high and thick. A lot of it is grass which is a real pain. I'm way behind on mulching too.

You'll get there Dew, just keep at it.

Yep the never ending task of weeding. I took out 6 five gallon buckets of weeds today, the rain sure made them easy to pull. The chickens love going through the weeds I dump in their run, I know they are hoping there will be a worm or two.
I pulled the rest of the enormous radishes I couldn't keep up with and planted some sweet corn.
@dewdropsinwv you got to just keep on keeping on, weeding that is lol.

I hear ya there @CrazyFeathers It's a never ending task.... I'm trying to help Monty J while he is away this week. I got a good break in the rain today. I'm hoping for another decent day tomorrow too but it doesn't look too promising.

I had hours & hours of rototiller work today.

First, there was the sitting & pulling. Had to get the weeds away from the rows. Not all done there but had those hours hanging onto the tiller ahead of me, wanted to finish with that, sometime!

At least, finish with "the day" & the evil, thereof. I'll be baaack.

I'm sure I have hours of weed pulling a head of me too Steve! The pictures I posted aren't even all of our garden just what got weeded today. I still have corn, tomatoes and potatoes to get weeded.:hide

The weeds sure have had the upper hand here lately. I am so frustrated with my garden this year, I am half tempted to throw in the towel and just go fishing instead. But deep down there's a part of me that just can't let it go, even if it eventually drives me mad. My canning shelf is starting to look a bit sparse. It taunts me.

Your weeds still look small enough to hoe, if we can just get a couple of dry days in a row here soon. If all else fails, we may have to get out the weed-whacker!

@journey11 I know that feeling all too well, and I'm sure Monty J feels the same way about throwing in the towel! He was only able to get the plants in the ground. He's been in Morgantown working a lot. I don't mind helping him while he's working though. Once I get the weeds away from the plants, I will take the stirrup hoe to the rows.
I just wish we could get a break in the weather soon!
