MILLIKEN, Colo. — The Hispanic owners of a barbecue restaurant in Milliken say they plan to host a "White Appreciation Day" next month.

What started as a joke is now on the calendar. Edgar Antillon and Miguel Jimenez recently purchased Rubbin Buttz BBQ on Broad Street. On June 11, they plan to offer a 10% discount to all white customers and no one else.

"We have a whole month for Black History Month," Antillon said. "We have a whole month for Hispanic heritage month, so we thought the least we could do was offer one day to appreciate white Americans."

While liberals’ whining over a Hispanic-owned business instituting its “White Appreciation Day” is rather funny, they thought they’d show their famous “tolerance” by calling in bomb threats that shut down the BBQ restaurant for a few hours.

From 9 News Colorado:

The restaurant in Milliken that gained national attention after a 9NEWS story about it’s idea for a “White Appreciation Day” was evacuated Friday due to a bomb threat.
The Hispanic owner of Rubbin Buttz BBQ, Edgar Antillion, says they received numerous threats Friday.

The restaurant hung a sign reading “White Appreciation Day! June 11th. Because all Americans should be celebrated!!” It plans on giving white customers a 10 percent discount.

Antillon, who was born to Mexican parents, pointed to Black History Month and Hispanic Heritage Month.

This is especially heinous:

Ricardo Romero, a civil rights activist in northern Colorado, called the plan “a perpetuation of racism.” Jennifer McPherson with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies says people who believe they are discriminated against can file a complaint with the civil rights division.

Well they’re screwed.

The BBQ shop owner mentioned the bomb threats on Facebook:

Waiting for the all clear. Pulling out the prime rib that people missed out on due to the bomb threat. (Investigation still going on).Prime rib sandwiches tomorrow though, as well as smoked filet mignon.

LOVE the idea, though! It's a hoot! And they are right...all kinds of appreciation and history months and TV stations for this or that race, but the lonely ol' Caucasian doesn't get that same reverence. I can just see us labeling a TV station White Entertainment Television...wouldn't that cause a hubbub!

I still can't believe, in this day and age, we have to have any kind of distinction between races at all...never did understand it all. They are all just people, we are all just people, why can't we just call them and us "people" and stop elevating one above the other? We all just folks.

Mom sat across a lady at lunch the other day who was ranting about all those "colored children" from mixed race couples and how they were all on welfare and the guvment should DO something about it!!!

Mom took great delight in telling her that she is a grandma to no less than 3 mixed race grandchildren and not a one raised on welfare. Asked her exactly what the "guvment" should do about all those whites mixing with the "coloreds"....can you believe there are people who still exist with this mindset???

@Pulsegleaner told me about a locale restaurant call firehouse grill. When i went to their website to see menu, I noticed fire and police get 10 % discount. I give a discount to seniors, as a business owner, you should be allowed to give anyone you want a discount.
