I ended up with one, I wanted a small pool for koi, the only spot available was in the back corner of our lot beside a big old ornamental cherry tree. After much constructive staring it was determined this area should be roofed over to keep the leaves out when they came down. First we built a planter because yours truly wanted a little spillway. Then the roof went up before we dug the hole, that done pond liner put in we built a small deck in front. We used lattice panels to box it in. I still want to put doors on to completely enclose it but don't know if that will ever happen. One I get the lattice covered in vines it will be my secret garden. Never pained or stained the wood as once you do it has to be redone sometime down the road. It's not fancy but it serves the purpose and I can grow a few tender things that wouldn't winter out in the garden.

Right now it looks blah and dismal, but in a couple of months the Daphne will be blooming filling the air with it's fragrance and everything else will be coming to life, I can hardly wait.
Do any of you have garden rooms, I'd love to see them.

@Chickie'sMomaInNH, we have a few fish, one year we had to cover it with netting, something was getting at them, a racoon, mink, heron not sure. Fingers crossed we haven't had a problem the last couple of years. Not the best pic but it shows some of the fish, When the koi need more room we give them to a friend who has a bigger pond, actually his is more like a small lake.

We did have another pool out in the open but it was always full of leaves from the Robinia tree, it was getting to be a pain to keep it decent looking so in early 2013 we filled it in with gravel, it was a pool strictly for the goldfish, they now live with the koi.

Thanks @Nyboy , the pictures make it look fancier than it really is. Things just evolve around here, I'm no good at garden design I wish I was, with me it's the old trial and error method. When I start something new, it's dig a hole plunk in that plant I couldn't resist, sit myself down in a chair and stare at it until something else pops into my head. I don't want to tell how many times I've dug them back up and tried something else.

I do the plunk and sit method too!
I don't have a real garden room, just a little space behind the house with a picket fence around it, where I do a lot of plant shifting. I was pretty happy with the plant arrangement last summer and also just added a stone walkway. Dh and I like to sit out there in the morning and watch the hummers.

What a beautiful room! I would love to sit there and have a cup of tea, especially when the Dahine blooms.

I have a small attached (8x12) garden room off the back of the house. It is a "Four Seasons Sunroom" with all glass. Because we ran a heat duct into the space, it is truly a four season room. Otherwise, the cold of Wisconsin's winters would cause the room to freeze -- unless I kept the patio door open to the house all the time and that would have raised the heat bill.

This is where I over-winter my 'tenders'.
