Holidays mean a lot of extra work here. I have over 50 dogs in kennel 20 are going home today, all dogs are groomed before going home. Do you get to relax and enjoy time off at holidays or do you work them?

It's voluntary for me today, just polishing up one job since today is supposed to be dry. Then I'll be done until pruning tree time in February. :)

you must be a special person because i sure would go nuts... :)

today i had a wonderful afternoon working outside in some gardens. the weather was beautiful and the ground was dried out enough (except for some low spots) that i could get things buried.

pulled up and chopped turnips and radishes so the worms could eat them through the winter. raked some dirt piles more level, some weeding, raked dead stuff out of irises - just the general end of season puttering around.

if the coming week forecast turns out anything like it is right now i'll be able to get some other things done that i wasn't planning on getting to until next spring/summer. as long as other things don't come up... not sure when leaves will be showing up. i have plenty of places they can go ready. if i knew for sure they were coming i could dig some holes for them ahead of time. some years i've had 40 bags or more. this year i'm at 1/2 a bag so far. my shoulder will not mind a light season...

we'll see...

I worked today. We had black Friday sales at the St. Vincent De Paul store. Got out at 2:00-something to a beautiful, sunny, 64 degree day. I just ate breakfast. Think I'll try some mowing?

I worked on a new emu hut.
Hopefully tomorrow will still be nice and I can finish the roof and measure for the trim.

Emu?!

I went for a walk in a park. There was quite a bit of up and downhill and much of it was on kinda wet lawn or fallen leaves and pine needles.

I told DW that I might have reached a time when sitting for 2 or 3 weeks will mean pushing 4 wheels in front of me just so I can get around in the house! We saw quite a few dogs out leading their persons around ... I didn't share with any of them that my nickname is Tramp ...
