It's voluntary for me today, just polishing up one job since today is supposed to be dry. Then I'll be done until pruning tree time in February. :)

I take that back. As I was gathering my lunch and heading out the door I got an invite to go for a ride with two friends. Well, duh....work or ride...? I rode, and we're going again this morning. :ya

And maybe Monday if it's dry. I would rather work in the rain than miss some of the possibly best days of riding before winter comes crashing down.

I think this afternoon is reserved for cleaning up the garden. Tomorrow DH's son and family are stopping by for a visit on their way home from a more exciting family gathering farther down the road.

Other than parts of northern Idaho and western Montana remaining in drought, this area looks like it's about the only place in the US in "normal conditions."

That might not necessarily be good but: Extended Forecast

What jumps out at me locally and short-term is how boring things look ;). 10°f difference (30° to 40°) between daily lows and highs ... "1/10th of an inch or less precipitation" with "little or no snow accumulation" -- If this is the extended normal, some serious complacency can set in!

I wonder if I should go ahead with that crazy idea of pouring concrete walkway steps in the garage, moving them out after a few days. Or, continuing with the spring project to take off fence panels and paint them in there. It wouldn't take much to get the garage temperatures up above 50°.

About half.

I did the ones and the backyard gate that face the road. My nextdoor neighbors must be more tolerant because ... look who they decided to live beside!

Boards are taken off and painted separately. Rails replaced. Three posts and the pedestrian gate were replaced in spring 2017. Hopefully, no more posts need to be changed. It's all a time-consuming job!

Steve
edit: replaced in spring 2017, not "last year." seems like a year ...
