Vivian lettuce is AWESOME! I am harvesting baby greens from it now but I am letting more form the giant heads it is know for. It is delicious and I can't believe I made it to 46 1/2 years of age and never tasted it before!

This one is definitely going to be in next year's garden!

Cos?

And, to think I have to put up with a little Parris Island and Rouge d'Hiver.

And, if I wore dentures, I wouldn't be able to say, "Rouge d'Hiver!"

Romaine, remains well into the summer with cut-&-come-again.

Vivian, you say, you dear olde thing!?

Steve ;)

Great texture. Buttercrunch-ish flavor. Supposed to be more tolerant of heat which is a good thing in Colorado. It just got to the point where it needs to be thinned and I ate some of the thinnings. Then I cut a bunch and added it to my other salad greens it was so good. Then I checked my seed box and saw I had more seeds so I ended up planting more!

:love

Oh...FYI...brand of seed is Burpee. One of my impulse buys at HellMart.

Ah, you are trying to drag me back to Burpee, Wife'.

I'm hoping that Edonis Charentais melons do as well in my 2010 garden as Burpee's Honey Girls have done in the past. Darn, that company is expensive! Then they have these exclusive varieties that call to us, like Sirens on the cliffs calling to the Argonauts!

You might enjoy trying Nevada Batavian lettuce, Wife'. It performed real well in your part of the world in tests by CSU.

I like Nevada real well. It isn't a romaine but my wife calls it a romaine.
