Landon and I search for "Old Lady Slippers," every spring. I am glad we did not miss their bloom in the forest.

Cat that is so cool !!! Is it on your land or public ? I have seem them for sale at Adams, $60 for tiny plant
They are in a forest right by my house. We walk there all the time. It is actually a part of my town but owned by the next town over where they have wells that they no longer use. They keep the trails nicely maintained. One year I saw yellow Lady's Slippers but have not seen them since. I am sure they are in my woods too, but we know where to find these every year.

I don't know where he finds the orchids. I never see them ...

There are the grass widows and shooting stars early in the spring. The balsam root sunflowers have come and gone. The syringa bushes are blooming now. Characteristic of here but common ...

I think that he may have friends in the Forest Service ... Might help that he is also a Presbyterian pastor ;).
