I think I just had way too much fun doing a winter cleaning of the garden! :happy_flower

Ok, not really, I'm exhausted and dirty. The last two days have been in the 60's and I just couldn't help get all those weeds out, pull the dead plants I've missed and trim out the garden. Turned in some compost and straw, and more layers of mulch. I was extremely happy to find some leeks that popped up, so I moved those to a new bed and I found about 8 parsley plants that just randomly popped up too. I was very pleased!

The only bummer is the moment to finish and turn around to see your work and realize everything is still dead and brown and it looks like you accomplished nothing! :th

You go vfem! We had a day of sunshine today, but after 4 weeks of gray drizzle and 3 1/2 inches of rain yesterday and the day before, everything is mud. Rain will start up in a couple of days and more mud. If I can't get in my garden, at least you can!

At least the weeds won't overtake you at this time of year. You've won a victory...for now! ;)

I went out and did the same thing today. It was a great day for a little garden clean-up. 45 degrees, a little sun, no rain, no wind. I'll take it! :D

Lucky you, V! We've had days and days and days of rain, and it's not over yet. :hit Rain is in our forecast today and all next week - I can't even go in the yard without boots, much less the garden. Cloudy and overcast days are in my future. :(

The Bay area gets very moist chilly air off the cold north pacific current that comes from the Arctic and swirls back from Japan up to Alaska and back down.

So the chill in the area where NinnyMary lives is a dense and moist kind of chil, and when it is windy down there in the bay area, it bites right in.

Because I used to live in Montana for 21 years, I do understand the different kinds of cold. Try to keep your skin dry NinnyMary when you go out in it.
