My squashes seem to be going crazy! I've heard about squash blossom soup,fried squash blossems etc... but being as this is the first year I've grown them...

suggestions?:/

Good morning desert girl,

Here you go -- it is a mixed collection of recipes for both the blossom & squash but it should keep you going for a bit........!! ;)

I have only just set out my little plants after our long cold winter & spring.
I think the blossom is delicious & it always reminds me of lunchtime in Italy where they have them stuffed & quickly fried in crispy batter.......Mmmmm!!

In many parts of Italy both squash blossoms and leaves are used as an important ingredient of minestrone soup. The simplest way to use up squash blossoms is to use tempura batter and deep fry them, then sprinkle with powdered sugar. This is used as a desert. We used to do the same thing with yucca blossoms.
