Leafing Out
Hello. I have been doing a lot of research and found so may contradicting charts as to what to plant when. I really want to know what veggie/herb seeds to start now in June. Thanks!

Zone 7 could be on the coast of the Pacific Northwest on into British Columbia, in the desert of the Southwest, in Louisiana or in New Jersey . . .
2nd plantings of sweet corn, greenbeans and summer squash . . ?
Any of the perennial herbs, if you have a shaded place to start them and keep them watered for a few weeks . . .

I am in zone 7B, I live in the desert, I planted my garden weeks ago, but you can plant canteloupe, corn carrots, squash, tomatoes, cucumbers , bell peppers, hot peppers. pumpkins I may left something else out. But I keep my growing untill the first cold weather hits. about November. End of july I plant fall crops like cabbage ,lettuce, carrots winter squash, beans

When you guys say plant, does it mean by seed or starter plant?

Both ! But most of them I started weeks ago, some I buy are peppers plants , they take too long,. most seeds do better in ground, like corn , carrots, beets. beans . Ive already had tomatoes seeds planted last January (in my house) . In my garden I have lots of volunteer tomatoes from last year !myfirstgarden said:

Myfirstgarden, Welcome! Since you are new at this- I would recommend going to a greenhouse and buying some transplants. Bring them home, water them, weed them- and see what happens... What is the worst thing that could come of it?? You will learn a lot and you might get some veggies! Happy Gardening!

Start hot weather crops now like okra, tomatoes, peppers, tomatillos, beans, etc.
June isn't an ideal time to do many herbs which like it under 80F, particularly the ground temperature so planting in a shaded area may help if you don't want to wait till fall for those.
Usually the best results come from starting seeds earlier in the season, buying established plants to put in the ground may be a big morale boost when starting out, though in a couple months you might consider starting some herbs inside from seed and moving them outside when the weather gets a bit cooler.
