Is celery worth it?

Good info on celeriac. I'll check into it, but as of right now I'm not sure what I'll do besides focus on nurturing my soil with chicken poop

I think I should come with a name that has more appeal than celeriac. I don't even know how to pronounce the word!

Imagine a legume someone decided should be a "beaniac."

Okay. Meaningful ... celery ... celecarbo. No, no ... although ... no. Starchelery! Star Chelery ... hmm. Celefood. I know. Calorie.

We are not meant to grow celery. We are meant to buy it at the grocery. So there. Problem solved.

a while back was thinking about growing it but the dw said we can only it so much at one time and celery is only 39 cents a bunch, shoot that idea down.

.39 cents !!! Not at my grocery store. Oh well, we really do not eat all that much celery anyway.

I have never seen celery for .39/bunch. It's usually sold by the pound where I have shopped. Except Costco of course. There you can get 4 large bunches for under $4, but even when we went on a celery binge (sometimes in the summer it is so refreshing when it's eaten icy cold ) we still couldn't eat it all before it went ugly.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one to lose celery to the refrigerator gods. I use a lot in soups, salads, sandwiches, etc. and still it seems as though my refrigerator doesn't like celery and does its best to get rid of the stuff by turning it brown awfully quickly.
