Getting another FROST overnight!!
Gotta Re cover my peach tree.
Dunno how many peaches I will get if I cover it again...just know that it will be ZERO if I don't.

Our weather was in the 20s c.
This morning it's down to 3c and rain is due. It blooming crazy

Very nice day set up by Mother Nature. H-75F , Low 46F . Now ready to hit the sunshine outside today and soak up some Vit-D.

frost again last night, warm enough today later to get out for a while and i hope i can actually do it.

Steady rain since middle of the night. There was one break, so I could get the 2024 beef out of the downstairs freezer and move the cars. DH and DD's both drove down 45 minutes to the locker to pick it all up this morning.
I just got the truck and the 2 cars back in the garage. I emptied out the garage dehumidifier, too.
Still raining, ponies have been out on the pasture for a couple of days. I need to fix their shelter manger where one of them messed up the boards, but otherwise I don't have any more big jobs to do today.
IF I get an hour I will have to replant AGAIN all of my peas!!!!!
After I planted we had weeks of drought, and I think that they dried out. Only 3 sprouted.

Don't feel badly, @Dahlia . Just read an article about growing peas problems, and I may have just planted them too early. I have Plenty of extra peas to plant!

That's good! I once planted peas too early and they just froze in their size for like a month and then when things warmed up, they took off growing! I can't sneak them in early. Lesson learned!

The "Dry Pea and Lentil Capital of the US" lies less than 100 miles to the south. At one time, I imagined this meant that Austrian field peas would be a good choice for a Winter cover crop. Twice trying with the results of about ½ of the plants dying 1st Winter and 90% of them dying the 2nd. Maybe the recent, warmer Winters would have better mortality rates but subzero F with no snow cover can't be good, for sure.

The other problem for garden peas is if we have hot and very dry weather during late Spring. That infrequently happens but wipes out Fava beans ... and then Adzuki beans must not tolerate our bouncing 24 hour temperatures well enough to mature. Soybeans are not grown commercially anywhere nearby but variety choice seems to allow some possibilities. All gardening is local .

Staying above freezing the most recent 2 nights. That may change the next 2. Interesting that our 2 afternoons to hit 70f (21C) were in March and we "officially" haven't seen that in 3 weeks of April ! Close, a few times.

It's been rainy on and off today and quite breezy. The high was 55.
