    Sentry, Baymule’s Livestock Guard Dog

I agree. Steroids are scary stuff. It irks me when vets want to use them willy nilly for every little problem. No thank you. Save those for when there are no other options. I’m sorry about your sister. Human doctors are under even more pressure to make right decisions than vets are.

I think maybe that picture is meant to be a coyote.

    Reina, Baymule’s Horse

I teared up at the part where she walked on short hooves for the first time with high steps, just before the lady on the video said they all cried.

    Pansies 2023

I usually plant some pansies in the fall. They will often bloom (tiny blooms) all winter in between freezes, and come back nicely in the spring. I never thought about WHEN in the fall to plant them to make a difference. I guess I plant them late, because I wait for them to go on clearance. I...

Since no one answered, I will. It’s Chain Chomp. Probably descendants of his own cattle that got loose.😂

    Recycled Items for Gardening Purposes

I cancelled my newspaper subscription because I was tired of it being thrown on top of my flowers around my mailbox. Or else thrown in the middle of the muddy driveway for us (or delivery trucks) to try not to drive on. And because the price kept going up, ridiculous jumps at a time. I really...

    When Posting a New Thread

Oh, I see what you mean now that I tried it. It jumps you out of the title field to the main body of the text. Maybe the forum doesn’t want people making bold text titles. Maybe it’s a consistency thing. Edit: a ha! I think I just realized why: Threads with bold titles mean you have not read...

    Too many smart devices!

I will show this to DH. Maybe he will check out the sprocket and bar. We have already talked about sharpening the chain. That is an excellent idea!

    December Foraging

Next time I’m chopping the chickweed, because the long stems made the whole piece come out in one bite. But I am thrilled that I have a source of leafy greens that I can add to several foods whenever I happen to be out of salad ingredients. (When they are not dormant, of course.) 🤗

If @baymule can have chickweed tacos, then I can have chickweed hot dogs! 😂

Well, that’s what I’ve always called it. 😊 I never heard of miner’s lettuce before.

    December Foraging

Ok so you all got me going outside to look at my chickweed. I noticed the other day that it was actually growing in a protected spot by the north wall of my house. But it isn’t blooming very much. I don’t see any antennae. Does that mean I have miner’s lettuce, or do I need to wait for the buds...

    Too many smart devices!

We have this, and we love it. We have a gas powered chainsaw that can’t seem to hold onto its chain. I hate gas powered stuff like that and won’t use it. DH only gets it out anymore if he absolutely has to have a bigger saw. But the DeWalt handles almost everything we need. That and loppers.
