My cup runneth over, and over and over.

My Aldi's $7.99 bargain mama plant is going to bloom again. I counted an incredible 38 buds on the plant, and I may have missed a few! This time I am going to hold off pollinating the flowers, as once pollinated they fade and produce pods. I'll place the plant in a display pot and bring...

    new yorker tomato

My results are: the fruit is small and each plant only produced six or eight tomatoes and stopped, just stopped. I am going to let this one get just slightly riper before I taste it.

    Rose remorse

Alex, We are "old school" and do everything around the house ourselves. Theresa is out there early in the morning tending her flowers and I do the yard and garden. I just finished mowing in this heat and I am soaking wet. Gawd, this is AWFUL!!

    Growing hydroponically for practically peanuts.

Well, the basil project continues. The original plant has been producing for weeks and looks like it will continue to do so as the roots have now reached the nutrients. We have started several more containers so we will have a continuous supply year round. In addition to the plants in the...

    Springing into spring.

The tomatoes in the greenhouse have grown higher than their supports. It is too early in the season to top them off so I am tying cord to the peak of the greenhouse to support them while they grow on.

    Springing into spring.

Six chipmunks showed up on Thursday and attacked poor Simon. They were so brazen they would come right back after I tried to chase them away. I chased one and as I walked back it would follow right behind me. Simon kept a low profile while I trapped and deported them to the Tomhannock...

Things that go bump in the night.

Opossum checking out the flower bed but did no damage. "The opossum is a marsupial of the order Didelphimorphia endemic to the Americas." I did not realize they were marsupials until I looked it up.
