I processed all these tomatoes and turned them in to 56 quart jars of salsa! I made enough salsa this year that I won't need to make any next year! This salsa also has home grown onions, garlic, sweet and spicy peppers.
I still have a box of paste tomatoes but those will be cored and put in the...
We harvested 5 melons yesterday. One went to the neighbor. Some rotted which happens every year. The second planting of melons are withering away so not sure what is causing that. I should also get almost 10 watermelons if things go well. You never know with watermelons. One day they look happy...
We are under severe thunderstorm warning. Since we live in a tornado prone area, we always keep a close eye on weather report when any sort of severe weather rolls in.i love a good thunderstorm tho! And we needed the rain.
blight is slow to spread on the fabric grown tomatoes but it still ends up killing them. I could also be falsely calling something else blight tho? We also had lots of rainy days in a row and I was late pruning the bottoms. I wish I didn't have to grow so many plants just to get the harvest I...
Went out and harvested all big tomatoes even if they had a slight blush. I will let them Ripen inside the house and make sauce and can it. So many tomatoes! I dropped off a big box full at my neighbors house and she was happy to get them. I was happy to get rid of them 😂
My san tomato plants are dying quickly :(. I always plant extras so I still get the harvest I need. I would like to have tomatoes until frost tho but that won't happen. Maybe in the greenhouse? Next year will show!
The potato plot was tilled and I sowed buckwheat. It's growing pretty well. We...
Your garden is looking amazing. Your tomato plants make me jealous! Mine all have blight and are dying pretty quickly. Next year I plan to grow most of them in the greenhouse and I am praying they do better and live longer. Right now I just plant lots so I can still get what I need, sell and share.
Made cheese enchilada with home made salsa with side of corn on the cob from the garden. Also made gluten free cake which turned out to be a brownie texture. So good!
Oh my what big pigs!
You loaded giant dinosaur size pigs on to a trailer and here I was proud as a peacock that I fed my goat some feed right off my hand 😂
I'm a Harold fan! If he ever gets a tour contract for his famous tricks, I'll be happy to become a tour groupie even if it means cleaning is mobile coop 😂.
I learned a lot about fermting from Stacy on YouTube channel called off grid with Doug and Stacy. I also use the rubber fermenting lids, glass and sea salt. She makes it look so easy. I have fermented hot sauce in the past and also made Kimchi.
Could it be? Am I dreaming? Do I have all the salsa I will need for a year? Yes, yes I do!
I also have lots extra to share and possibly sell :) this batch is mild for those with more sensitive taste buds. Actually I might make a small batch using some ghost peppers. Do I dare?
Now I can focus...
Harvested all sweet corn, shucked it, washed it and bagged it up. It's in the fridge for fresh eating. I only grew enough for fresh eating. Also harvested some okra and one yellow squash.
Tried to clear the paths in the greenhouse. I hope the plants I butchered in the process will survive...
DH made coffee for me but I'm still in bed trying to decide if I want to go outside or clean the house. It is Friday so I must clean the house.
I also need to decide on what to make for breakfast. Yesterday was waffles so I might make some potatoes, eggs and toast today.
