    My first broody hen!

Well they are starting to hatch. One hatched out but it didn't absorb all of it's yolk and died :( I'm hoping for something more positive later today!

    My first broody hen!

That is very interesting! She has been making quieter noises so she must be talking to her babies. I could hear some internal pipping earlier so hopefully we will have some babies tonight or tomorrow morning. How long does it take for the babies to fluff up after hatch?

    The Florida Weave for tomatoes

I got all 18 six foot t-posts from my grandpas barn for free and they were actually in really good shape. They were from his old calf pen that stood from the early 50s to late 70s. I have also gotten 4 steel chicken feeders and a metal chicken waterer from him that are my favorite to use with my...

    The Florida Weave for tomatoes

I tend to lightly prune my romas, heavily prune my heirlooms, and occasionally prune my hybrids at the base. It depends on how the plant looks. They stay up better with more suckers at the twine so its not rubbing on a fruit bearing branch. It's really about preference. YouTube has a ton of...

    My first broody hen!

I have been yes, but she just leaves it alone. Before she got up every other day or so to stretch and what not but she must know that hatch is near and doesn't want to leave her nest. Nature is so funny.

    The Florida Weave for tomatoes

With 90 tomato plants this year, I needed an inexpensive way to get them up off the ground. After some research I found the Florida Weave. It has worked really great so far- we will see what happens when the plants have fruit on them. What method do you use?

    My first broody hen!

One of my Black Copper Marans went broody about 4 weeks ago. I gave her eggs a week into her broodyness once I realized I couldn't break her. She got 7 Blue Andalusian eggs and 7 Blue/Black Orpington eggs from a local 4H girl. I candled at day 12 I believe and all 7 Blue Andalusian eggs were...

Just a few of my flowers...

My chocolate mint smells soooooo divine. It kind of has a licorice hint to it. I want to make something with it but I really don't know what.

Just a few of my flowers...

Thank you! I go on the Proven Winners facebook page and website for inspiration but I created that combo myself a few years ago. I try not to do the same thing twice but I always use this combo in my shallow pansy pots.

Just a few of my flowers...

Here are some of my potted flowers and some mojito mint and chocolate mint. They are huge this year due to my new fertilizer. My petunias have never looked this good!

What did YOU do in your garden today :P

I trellised up my 90 tomato plants using the Florida Weave method. I also fertilized the flowers and all the veggies with Spray-N-Grow.

    Spray-N-Grow?

I have it marked on my calender and I set a reminder on my phone to spray it on Wednesdays. I also have a reminder to do the acid treatment for my blueberries on Sundays.

    Spray-N-Grow?

I have been religiously using the Spray-N-Grow, Bill's Perfect Fertilizer, and Coco-Wet once a week on my plants and holy moly has it made a difference! My flowers have never looked this good before. I have to get pictures for you guys. P.s. I'm not affiliated with their company at all :p

This is not my photo, just one I found online. The coloring slightly differs but looks to be the same type.

    Let's Talk About Heirloom Tomatoes

They are doing well! I won't have any fruit until the end of July, maybe beginning of August. They are nice healthy plants.

Sorry, I meant German Johnson, not German Giant. I always grow Old German for the beautiful color and large size. Their insides look about the same as the German Johnson.
