^ Odd, I've read people claiming okra don't need much water at all, that you can wait till the ground starts cracking open. Then again there's a big difference between keeping them alive and keeping them productive.
Is there any trick to saving seeds or just leave a few on the plants to...
Thanks for the link CountryGirl. Almost all of my bad seed didn't float, but all that float seem to be bad. In retrospect, they didn't look or have any other properties that were different from the good seed I'm using now, till I couldn't get most of them to sprout and those that did looked...
You're probably better off starting a new topic.
What type of plants and do you know how big they get? How much space do you have available? How much are you willing to spend on the electricity for the lights? To give you some idea, 1000W from CFL light might handle 6 or 7 full sized pepper...
Why would you prune the tops off? I usually pick the really low blooms off as tomatoes at ground level may rot on the ground or get eaten by *something*, but for pruning the rest it's about how tall you want the plant, if it's staked how high it can be supported and whether you're trying for...
Intellitext advertising is very common on the internet, though it is strange for you to start seeing it all of a sudden unless there is either malware added on to your browser OR you used to have a plugin that blocked that sort of thing or a hosts file or firewall/etc. that was blocking it...
Could be a BHO, browser helper object installed on your system but more likely is that it's Intellitext, an advertising script on the website.

There are ways to get rid of it but I don't know if the site admin would mind me posting them...
I wait till August, start herbs inside, and a few weeks later put them out when it's no longer above 75-80F outside. It's hit or miss, you can't trust the weather too much.
yes it's suspicious at best. I like (re)using waste instead of sending it to a landfill but there's a funny argument there too. If you send your organic waste to a landfill then the landfill has a much better chance of supporting plant then wildlife growth later so instead of staying a dump...
I'd like to have an alien ship come and transport my entire neighborhood a few hundred miles south. Does anyone know who has the most reasonable rate to do that?
Yeah, the longer a plant has the better off it'll be though at some point keeping it indoors provides less light and becomes a matter of space, maintenance or even the power bill (when sunlight is free).

Might depend on zone too, I find that I make little incremental gains starting plants...
Add in this order: Chicken, cow, goat, horse. Stop when your field is full of poo ;) Avoid goat and horse if possible, their digestive tracts don't digest seeds as well.
Definitely seems like my past seeds were bad. Bought seed from a different seller, soaked it in water for a day at which point the seed had swollen to about 3X its prior size and I could see the sprouts starting to poke out the end of the seed. Put some seed in the ground and some in pots...
You'll need to plant more of them to get the same yield as they won't get very big by the end of the season due to a shorter and cooler season. Not really an ideal crop for your location but they should grow. Start them indoors about 2 months before the last frost, or around the first week of...
Start hot weather crops now like okra, tomatoes, peppers, tomatillos, beans, etc.
June isn't an ideal time to do many herbs which like it under 80F, particularly the ground temperature so planting in a shaded area may help if you don't want to wait till fall for those.
Usually the best results...
Flood the container with water to flush out excess fertilizer. If your daily temperatures are getting much over 80F, shade them from mid day and evening sun.
You have a good climate, basically whatever you want to grow. Starting out, the more gratifying results would come from buying established plants since they had a head start on growing, but even starting seed, in your zone you could have results from that too.
The question is, what do you want...
It's safest to store in oil in the freezer or in the fridge add plenty of acid to get the ph below 4.6 but according to the following document that's not easily done with garlic.

You have not listed your location in your profile so we don't know that or what zone you are in, how big they are now or how long it took to get to that size.
Given good conditions including plenty of heat, sun, and water, they can grow to be quite large, even 10 ft tall. In less optimal...
