    Over fertilized potted lemon tree?

There are no mites, and we did start out very slowly with the outside access. We do a couple days at 2-3 hours on nice days, and then increase it by an hour or so every other day. Nothing happened until we put the fertilizer in there.

    Over fertilized potted lemon tree?

So.. we took the plunge into potted lemon trees. Hubby bought a potted seedling, maybe a year old, from a woman at our local farmers market a couple of years ago. It's doing okay, not real bushy or anything, still hasn't flowered so no fruit as of this year. Well, I was watching a video on...

    Harvesting asparagus

So, last year we put in some asparagus crowns. It said that this year we could harvest sparingly. How do you know what "sparingly" is? If you don't harvest it, it goes to seed, so what are you supposed to do with it??

What did YOU do in your garden today :P

Our new pear tree came in today. Hubby prepared the front for 2 rows of raspberries that we ordered as well. He wants to do raised beds for the raspberries with the red "cement" things around them so we can mow and weed eat around them to help keep the runners down. They can grow all over the...

    My 4H project for 2015 - No, 2014!

Yes! It would have been nice had they given us the males, but nooooo! All females. :idunno In my daughters class, they really stacked the odds against her. The winner for her class was a full 10 pounds heavier than hers! I thought that they would have at least put similar sized birds in each...

What did YOU do in your garden today :P

Today we got all the paths filled, lifted the edges of the ones that had sank and filled THAT with the clay/sand that we're putting between the paths. I lined 2 beds with paper bags that needed to be filled, and then filled them to almost the top with compost. I've got 2 more beds that need...
