I do have a question about canning tomatoes. I pressure canned them and the tomato part floats to the top, leaving a sort of clear liquid at the bottom. 1. Is this normal /safe? 2. Is there a way to keep it from happening?
I've decided not to sell them. With the way the economy is, it's entirely possible I'll need them this winter! Plus, that's waaay too much work for 3.12!
Since I have to go to Hamilton anyway, it's not a big deal to check @Wal-mart. If I can't find one today, I'll do the website and have it shipped to the store.
Wal-mart in muscle shoals didn't have one, they're sold out. A friend at work said she may have one that she'll give me. Otherwise I'll have to look elsewhere.
Yes, at first she said she wanted ALL of them, then she said she wanted four jars of each type. Last year I sold a jar for three dollars, but I'm thinking not this year. I don't mind sharing some, but I think she's being a bit greedy!
Ok, just sat down and did some figuring. If I were to charge 3.00 per jar, the total cost of what she wants would be 48.00. That's 16 jars. So she's offering me 2.00 more. Also if I do this, that will only leave me 3 jars of blackberry. Someone else wants one of them, I'll need one for the...
So,I'm at work last night, talking to someone about putting up jams and jellies. Another person walks up and asks abouts them. I tell her, yes I have blackberry jelly, apple jelly, blueberry jam and strawberry jam. Then she says "I'll take four of each, I'll give you 50.00." Should I do it?
