All that info was from facebook so I take it with a grain of salt.
A polish? That's awesome! I'm really wanting to buy some hatching eggs but I'm still learning how to use my incubator. Plus, I'm at capacity for egg layers (20 hens, 2 roosters). I will be trying to sell my chicks that hatch...
No I didn't. I have a few bunnies to sell but not enough to warrant the trip to Glen Allen and I have no room for extra animals. I've been hearing some bad things about the Gilmanor swap. Lots of sick animals, animals too young to sell, kids and dogs running around unsupervised, etc.
That is awesome Cane!
One of my buff orps decided to go broody. She is sitting on 12 eggs. I candled them last night and 10 are definitely fertile, I'm not sure about 2 of them. It's my first experience with a broody hen so there's a bit of a learning curve. I also got an incubator for my...
I have australorps and buff orpingtons. 10 hens of each and a rooster of each. This spring another coop will be built to separate the 2 breeds and a sizeable outdoor brooder will be built and an incubator will be bought and I will be hatching chicks!!!
Hey cane sisters!
I haven't heard what people are bringing yet. Me and another guy are hosting together and we just started advertising.
I will be bringing my saddle that I've been trying to sell for the past year.
Hi everyone, it's been a long time.
I am very excited to announce that we will be having a chicken swap at the Dinwiddie Tractor Supply on Sunday March 16th from 1-4. Nothing larger than a goat. All animals must have food, water, and adequate shelter.
Good advice Jared. Thanks!
Anything I grind would be both for my family and my dogs. I'm hoping to use it quite a bit between the rabbits and chickens and possibly some venison. Ground anything is easier to feed to the dogs and is easy to make burgers, meatballs, etc.
I am researching meat grinders before I purchase one. I am looking for a manual grinder since I really just have bad luck with small electric appliances. I have looked at Wal-Mart, bass pro, and amazon and I am finding that every single grinder has extremely mixed reviews (1 star reviews to 5...
Big fawn female is staying!:ya
2 of the 3 people who came out yesterday took our advice on which puppy to get based on quality and temperament. The 3rd never showed up and his phone was cut off and his email address was invalid. It is pretty frustrating. He has until the puppies are 8 weeks...
I love that alpha puppy. I have my eye on 2 of them and need to make a decision by Friday on which one I will keep. I love a challenging dog to train and handle. The big fawn girl was the first to climb out of the box and the first to master the stairs. She really struts her stuff and I love it.
The SO and I study each puppy at 6 weeks old to determine if it is suitable for breeding (compare the puppy against the breed standard). We are keeping a female for the breeding program so we will choose first. Then people that have deposits in can choose their puppy. We sell some puppies on...
So far none of them have real names. There are a few that have nick names due to markings or size. 'Fuzzy bear' is the black one in the group of 3 that is behind the others. She's well, fuzzy. I have 'Lil Red'. She's the runt and she's a red fawn. 'Star' is black with a 5 point star on her...
Got 2 more today!! I had to add extra straw to several boxes that were low on bedding. They seem to like the boxes that have deep bedding and I don't want them to start laying on the floor.
