One of my buff orps decided to go broody. She is sitting on 12 eggs. I candled them last night and 10 are definitely fertile, I'm not sure about 2 of them. It's my first experience with a broody hen so there's a bit of a learning curve. I also got an incubator for my birthday and there are 20 eggs in there. 16 are fertile (I think).

The broody should be hatching her eggs any day now. The incubator eggs should hatch next week.

No I didn't. I have a few bunnies to sell but not enough to warrant the trip to Glen Allen and I have no room for extra animals. I've been hearing some bad things about the Gilmanor swap. Lots of sick animals, animals too young to sell, kids and dogs running around unsupervised, etc.

Oh wow. I didn't see any of that. There do seem to be more and more folks selling who don't know what they've got - and the crowd grows every year, but I didn't notice anything looking ill and all the dogs and children were properly tethered or strapped into strollers.
But then again, I was on a mission so I wasn't stopping at every single booth, just the ones that looked promising.
Came home with a blue & white Polish, and 2 EE's - one looks like the 'jubilee' pattern and the other is solid, slate blue. OH! Also brought home 6 Cream Legbar eggs that KDBeads is going to hatch for me.

A polish? That's awesome! I'm really wanting to buy some hatching eggs but I'm still learning how to use my incubator. Plus, I'm at capacity for egg layers (20 hens, 2 roosters). I will be trying to sell my chicks that hatch and whatever doesn't sell will go to freezer camp.
