Wow, V, I'm so sorry. I haven't been on the forum in a couple of days so didn't know. I wish I lived closer, I'd come out & tend your chickens & garden!!!
Will none of the friends coming over help with the gardening? I know, personally, I'd rather do that than take care of a 4 year old. ;)...
After getting the Invasion of the Tomato Worms under control, I now have a new pest. :(
These are about an inch long, thin (as opposed to roundish like japanese beetles) with what appears to be two black stripes on its back (altho it could be the topside of its wings), with gray borders & gray...
Me too!! :ep
I always planted the little bulbs when I gardened in VT & had terrific "globe" onions. Here in NC - nuffin'!
The green-top "bunching" onions I alway planted from seed with a lot of success.
:pop
Okay, that's good to know!!
vfem - yes, my other one looks just like your picture...& I think the wasps have done their job, because it hasn't moved in 24 hours! PLUS...I haven't found any others in that time either (after the original 5-6 I plucked off). :D
Also good to know I can feed them...
I'd always heard you were just supposed to squish them when you found them (altho I couldn't personally do it, I have too much of a gag reflex :sick ), but recently I read that if you found one with white egg sacks stuck to them to leave it be, because they were braconid wasps that would kill...
It just rained here for about 30 whole blessed seconds...
...just enough to get everything wet, but that's it! The deck dried out in about 2 minutes.
We had that smokey haze a couple days ago, it was hard to even go outside. Happy 3rd day of summer! :tongue
I feel your pain, vfem! (or should I say, I feel your sweat!!) :P
Every day "they" say it's going to rain...then nothing!!! Just clouds, heat, wind! :(
My metal cages were all blown over last weekend...I got up to find every plant on the ground. Now the 'maters are staked & tied with old...
I don't like radishes myself, altho I grew them this year for DH. I only got 4-5 out of the 20 or so I planted, tho. :/ He said they were good, but he'll eat anything.
