Thank you for all the replies. The county my husband works in offers him free mulch BUT you have to shovel it on your truck all by yourself. I have been talking about going to get some for about 3 months and somehow the subject always gets avoided. So today after everyones response I called...
We have used red pine chips in the 4 beds in the front and back of the house for the past 4 years and it is time to replace the old. My husband wants to use pine straw since it is cheaper, but it just doesn't look great to me up against the house. Any other cheap suggestions besides pine straw?
Can anyone suggest how to make a mini green house just big enough to fit about a paper box maybe? That way it would be easier fo rthe full time workers.
Yep, I just relaized we are the same zone so remember my username and congrats. Getting to 1000 would mean nothing to my husband but what does he know about gardening?...nothing!
I covered mine all with plastic sheets from the paint section at Lowe's. Hopefully I don't have bad luck waiting on me. BTW how do you know if the plant is a total loss? My lettuce, carrots and radishes are only about 1 inch tall.
