We have used red pine chips in the 4 beds in the front and back of the house for the past 4 years and it is time to replace the old. My husband wants to use pine straw since it is cheaper, but it just doesn't look great to me up against the house. Any other cheap suggestions besides pine straw?

Does anyone know if you can just buy some worms and throw or place them in your garden or do you have to do anything special.

That sounds like a good idea to me. My mouth is watering thinking back to childhood picking blackberries and eating them right there.

I am not sure of the soil condition needed but what about some type of berry for the fence. That way you can get fruit at the same time?

So why can't the fence be taken down? That might help the grass grow further and make the niew a little prettier.

Maybe take down the fence or plant bushes along it. Boxwood's or Gardenia's?

Crap I had them on the windowsill and the window was open Friday around 3pm until Saturday around 9pm. Probably is wind damage for me.

I covered mine all with plastic sheets from the paint section at Lowe's. Hopefully I don't have bad luck waiting on me. BTW how do you know if the plant is a total loss? My lettuce, carrots and radishes are only about 1 inch tall. Angie
