My mom just planted one in a whiskey barrel. Mmmmm. Her neighbor grows them and they are HUGE! I remember picking them when I was younger... they were so good.
Sounds like some people on here have had bad luck with horse manure, but I think it's the best thing ever! Hey, it's free for me (unless you count my feed bill :barnie ) and I have an endless supply! :gig
Ain't that the truth. My office at my last job was upstairs and had a huge window. My little cheap-o house plant in a horse head shaped container loved it there. Can't say I agreed!
LOL Pat... my rope horse is from Arkansas and my little mare is from New Mexico so they can fuzz up in the winter, but they are fair weather dwellers now! They wouldn't mind the extra hot feed, though!
Maybe I will try putting them outside. We don't freeze here and it stays pretty warm in...

I'm wondering, too, if I don't have the correct amount of lighting. My mom has this huge plant stand that my dad built and it has some sort of special lighting. Sounds like too much work for me! She's even got it on a timer.
We keep our house closed up during the hotter months because the amount...
They smell great! I've never been to Hawaii but my brother goes there with his wife every couple of years. I always have him bring me back at least one "stick"!
Now, if only I could get one of those to grow into a huge tree!
I'm a fan of Phalaenopsis, too, but probably because they *supposed* to be easy to grow. I still kill them, though. I must have some talent. :he
I'd really like one with the big, white flowers.
Anyone?
What are you going to grow this year? When are you starting? It's going to be 80 degrees all this week, so I have DH out there with the tractor and the till! :throw
