Sorry about the inconvenience! Server company changed our IP address and I didn't get the memo, so I was in a mad-scramble with helpers to get things resolved. Basically, the server and software were all fine... just the address changed and the interwebs didn't know how to connect your browser...

Short version: There's a bug in the software that we're hoping will be fixed soon and should resolve the missing smiley issue :)

I was so optimistic about my project... ... but I should have left well-enough alone, or at least not messed with all the shoots, and just tested on a couple :( Almost all of them are dead. A few are kinda holding on, so I'm trying to do my best to keep them alive.

From what I read, it was when the water-level was too high on the plant. Submersing the roots was fine, but not high up the stalk. Ya, once these take-root, I may test-out using some soil.

Thanks for the post! I believe the ad-company we use for display ads has a refresh rate set to 30 seconds, and I just verified that with a few ads while I was typing. If you're seeing something different than 30 seconds, then we'll need to determine if that's just happening to you, or also...

Great point! Often the question on BYC is how to delete draft "articles", but since we don't have that article system here, then it's not an issue. ... but for drafts in the thread: Yup, they can be deleted as you mentioned!

PHEW! Thanks everyone for your patience as we worked to figure out this problem! We had a handful of days with the site being pretty much unusable, but we wanted to be able to fix the bug in the database without causing any other issues (like loss of data). We were getting to the point where...

We're seeing errors when peeps try to view threads when they are logged in. We're looking into it and hope to find a fix soon!

Interesting discussion! We do have some flexibility in how quoted text looks, but how much... I'm not sure. @flowerbug do you have an example of what you'd ideally like it to look like? Correct, there isn't a way for us to make a quote "read only"
