I think everything looks remarkably good in view of the temperature drop.
Those Bolero carrots seemed to take it a lot better than the colored carrots.

have to agree and no photo editing done to them either.. have a hankering for some Cole slaw or roasted..have to see whats happening at the market tomorrow..

I admire your garden. I have sure missed having my garden. Moving is a LOT of work! I am chomping at the bit to get my 2016 spring garden planted too!

Me too. Major's pics are making me hungry and more determined to have a four seasons garden than ever. I've never had the time to do it before but I do now...I'd sure admire to know his planting schedules for his off season harvests.

dw and i went to the grocery store this morning, went down the soup section dang 18-19 oz cans of progresso soups were on sale bogo half off so at 1.49 each w/card
heck we stocked up on them...we have soup till the next ice age.....plus 90% ground beef and chicken wings were on a 2 day sale so stocked up on them..

we went into the produce area....yup it's winter time everything is either from down under or hot house grown. dw pointed out a a bunch of colored carrots.. had a good laugh. at that point it reminded me that i needed to order more colored carrot seeds.

unloaded the car and jumped onto the johnnys seeds web page..
and ordered my colored carrots for this year...
doing the following..
yellowbunch
purple 68
white satin
nurti-red.... new color for this year...

while there did order more marana tomato seeds and a pack of genovese basil...

Looking good major, looking real good!

thank you......

just looked back a year ago photos of the gardens on the computer.. you really can not compare these 2 winters, since last year was the big Yankee vortex that gripped the country, and then this winter...so far :fl

so in zone 7 with low hoop tunnels covered in 4 mil plastic you can definitely extend your gardening season.....
able to grow lettuce till late January after that it's fried..
the beets and bok chio are doing better than last year..
green onions would have done better if they where under plastic...
who knows what happened to the spinach this time, it fizzled out early....

here's today's photo of what we were able to salvage of the lettuce and a few carrots .....

DSC_0007.JPG

dang down to buying lettuce for the next 3 months.....

still waiting on the correct answer for may 7th......
