@Bluejay77 I was given a sample of Blue Shackamaxon a few years back (2011), I grew 3 of these on a pole in a bucket the year before last and got a few seed from them. This year I grew the rest of the sample I was given and there must have been a cross before I grew them because this is what I got, two different colored seed coats...

You can see the speckling on the lighter background better in the second picture. There were no crosses in the first ones I grew so next year I'll grow some again using seed from the first time and see what happens.
The blue shading really shows up when pic is taken with a flash.

@aftermidnight, Your Blue Shaxamaxon looks more like the Cornplanters Purple I got two years ago and just grew out this year. Wait until I post it one of these days soon. I've been going in alphabetical order of everything I harvested this year.

The Big Bean Show - Day #22

This bean is called "Bobolink". It is a pole climbing bean and I grew it again this year. It was once a part of John Withee's "Wanigan Associcates" bean collection. Also kept in the Seed Savers Exchange collection of bean varieties. There are many sources that point to Maine. The variety might be an old Maine heirloom. I wonder if possibly maybe even a native American bean.

The Big Bean Show - Day #23

This is an old bush bean variety called "Boston Favorite". It had been grown around the Boston area for quite sometime before 1885 and was better known in those days as Goddard. The Aaron Low seed company introduced it as Boston Favorite in 1885. The plants originally has a tendency to grow some runners, but later improvements eliminated the runner growths. The bean now grows without runners and is as it always was very productive. This variety is another of the beans I harvested in 2016.

The Big Bean Show - Day #24

This is a horticultural or cranberry bean known as "Brilliant" I found it to be a semi runner this growing season of 2016. It's large seeded productive, and beautiful. This variety was developed by J.R. Hepler at the University of New Hampshire in 1946. It resulted from a cross between French Horticultural and Gage, a local New Hampshire horticultural bean. Prof. Hepler's son, Billy, offered the bean in the Billy Hepler Seed Company 1947-1953.

@Bluejay77 your package arrived yesterday afternoon, thanks a bunch, that was quick but then you sent it expedited mail. The package I sent you will take longer, I sent it at the cheaper rate, hopefully you will have it soon. I'm really enjoying your big bean show:).
