No, as best as I can remember, my beans did not look like that. Those have no speckles. I would still like a few though cause....well no reason, just cause. Hahahaaa!

George described the bean like this.

"The seed is quite large and round, like a Romano type. It's brown & beige speckled."

@HmooseK so that's one mystery solved, it's a different bean. I'm thinking the Ralph's you and George are referring to are more likely Ralph's Italian, the name just got shortened sometime along the way. I'm trying to germinate 5 of the ones Keith sent, if successful I can send you about a dozen seeds.

@HmooseK Keith got them from a Tom G. in Connecticut, Ralph might of been a neighbor of his, Keith doesn't know the history behind them. If I can get them to germinate do you still want a few? We still haven't heard if @rdback who also bought Ralph's Italian from Victory had any luck with germination.

@saritabee,

I got all the SSE and website seed requests cleaned up today. I'll do my taxes in the morning then start on getting the Network packages together.

@aftermidnight,

Even though you won't be growing any network beans this year. It's always so nice to have you along for the ride. Enjoy the bean stories and history about varieties you post. I could not imagine a Little Easy Bean Network without you.

Annette, I'm so glad you'll still be around this year even if you won't be growing network beans!
It looks like Victory Seeds is now planning to re-offer Ralph's Italian for the 2020 season... so eventually they'll be back! I didn't remember seeing that note the last time I looked.

Please Read
I would like to ask everyone when they receive their beans to please keep your boxes. The boxes might still be in good enough shape for you to send your return seeds back hopefully by the end of November. Just reverse the addresses. Some people have asked me in the fall what is your address? My return address is on the box and I figure why not keep them.

Also I am supplying everyone with the return seed packets. All you have to do is put your return seed in them. Put them in the box and mail them. I am trying to standardize my storage of the beans when they return. The names are all on the packets and all I have to do is file them in Alphabetical order upon their return. They are also heavier ziplocs and are good to freeze the seed in if I so chose to do so for long term storage.

Once again Please save your boxes and the packets that I have supplied.

Thank You So Much
Russ
