Russ Crow's 2019 Bean Show Day #10
Hashuli Brown & White - Pole, Dry
I don't know why they attach the words brown and white to the name of this bean. It certainly look red and white to me. The variety was purchased in a market in Tbilisi, Georgia by American seed and plant collector Joseph Simcox (The Botanical Explorer). The seller had told Joseph that the bean came from a village called Hashuli hence the name. The bean is a very uncommon form even for Georgia. The bean produced about the same weight of seed as Harvard, but the seed quality was not nearly as good as some past seasons. Although I was able to pick out some fairly nice seed for regrowing. Seed Harvested Was: 7.05 ounces (199 grams).
