looks very much on duty there and happily so. :)

this morning when i was watering a rabbit was out and i tried to scare it off, but it ran around and i kept trying to spray it with the hose to get it to run all the way away, but instead it ended up running right at me. it was so strange. silly wabbit! ...

I have 4 MN 13 and 4 Polecat cowpea sprouts potted up.

I couldn’t resist so I put 6 of the MN 150 in a damp paper towel.

I’ll be container growing the way I have for the last couple years. I can keep them waist level so it’s easier for me. I did most of my tomatoes this way and they did well. I was even able to save several varieties of seed this year.

One of my bean projects. I’ve had some success growing Appalachian Beans starting them in the middle of July. A friend taught me this trick and it’s really helped me.

This is Grey Eyed Greasy Runner obtained from Remy. It’s a very pretty bean, well at least, it’s pretty to me.

two dried pods on the Fort Portal Jade potted plants. seven lovely seeds. :)

considering i started with four seeds i've had a nice increase, not sure i will get more or not. the plants are struggling in these pots and that i can't put them outside in this heat and the old potting soil is decidedly horrible - every garden i've used it in has performed more poorly than normal. i thought it would be a welcome addition because it had all that organic material in it and leftover little bits of time-release fertilizers and whatever. well whatever being the key word there as it is dense, compacted and even mixed with clay it's not helped the onions or the green and red peppers - i mixed it in so it would help. probably just spread the funk around.

that's what i'm calling it. scientific me... :)

Stuck my finger down into the 'dirt' to test for moisture and struck air! Darn moles. Fortunately this was in the production bean bed and doesn't affect any Network beans.
Seedlings and their tiny root systems aside, I'm not convinced moles do much damage. They always love my bean rows and the only time it causes problems is when the yellow jackets find out there's a pre-made tunnel down there.
