Marfax is the one we used in our first-ever baked beans. Can confirm, they were very very good! (and they are very good in just plain water)
During my Christmas vacation I managed to take some more pics of beans from 2022.
Tarahumara Dark Purple - pole.This year I sowed seeds harvested in 2021 and the beans grew great. The vast majority of the pods dried on the bushes. The color of the seeds is also better than in the previous season.

Welcome @Dahlia! I have grown sprouts many times (usually from a purchased mix) and there are often mung beans mixed in. Typically the cotyledon of the seed will get used up by the sprout and the seed coat rinsed away before you eat the sprouts. You can certainly sprout common beans also, but I think the sprout could get quite large before the cotyledon is used up. You might end up eating a mix of sprouts and bean seed. I think there are some types of beans that are unsafe to eat raw and I'm not sure which ones. If you could find out which ones are safe or cook with them, I think it should be fine.Well thanks! You're right, @BeanieQueen - those do not look like mine. I haven't noticed any significant yellowing, but this is the first year I have grown them. You can see in the photo below of the seed I planted and the seed I harvested - there does not seem to be much difference in color. Has anyone else grown these for the network?Your Sulphur look quite different from those that I know (and grow). Do they become really sulphurous-yellow after some days?

Really!? That's good news, because I really like this bean! I'm not 100% sure, but I think the original mother bean was called Ganymede, because Callisto is the name of the second largest moon of Jupiter after Ganymede. I thought she had mentioned something about that as to the reason for the name.Actually you might be able to grow this one. Ping Zebra is later in maturity than beans like this stablized cross that you were given. Try two seeds next season and start them early like you do with your pole beans. You might be in for a big surprise.
I wonder what was that lima that I sent that grower in southern Ontario? If I knew I might dig out that lima next summer and do some growing of it. Email me their name and I can go look for their seed order. I've got a record of seed orders back to about 10 years.
Is this Watchelbohne the same as the one you sent me @Artorius ? I know I wouldn't have put that whole name on a tag because it wouldn't fit, I may have shortened it. Our beans look the same too. I've only ever tried mung beans as sprouts, which are yummy, but I've never tried P. vulgaris beans that way. Might be something neat to try. I tried sunflower seed sprouts and they were surprisingly tasty, with quite a strong flavor. You never know what might taste good as sprouts.Well thanks!
