Yes, happy 77th birthday @Bluejay77! Hope it was special!
Is this Watchelbohne the same as the one you sent me @Artorius ? I know I wouldn't have put that whole name on a tag because it wouldn't fit, I may have shortened it. Our beans look the same too. I don't recall what the paper insert in the packet said now, all I remember was the word Watchelbohne.
Since being 'green' can be synonymous with 'new' I thought I'd post a green bean to start off the year.

Every year, in mid-February, I plant beans whose seeds I have in very small quantities. They grow in pots on window sills. In this way, last year, I multiplied the seeds of such beans:

Trahumara Bakamina. @saritabee gave me some original seeds from Native Seeds Search.

They are distinctly different from the beans I previously grew as Tarahumara Bakamina

Very true! Early Warwick looks very much like a smaller Whipple. Scale is important.without a scale you can't really tell if the bean you're looking at is similar to another that might be the same bean. to me this bean looks enough like Early Warwick that i'd not want to confuse them if they were actually distinct beans.
Do they grow indoors the whole time @Artorius?Every year, in mid-February, I plant beans whose seeds I have in very small quantities. They grow in pots on window sills. In this way, last year, I multiplied the seeds of such beans:

Yes, they are larger and more oblong. I think the vines are longer too. Here they are side by side. You can't really tell from the photo (my device can't take good pictures of dark beans) but the Malawi beans are a nicer green, a deeper more rich shade.how do those compare to Fort Portal Jade? to me they look like they may be a larger bean.
