22 Ammunition

Anybody know why it is almost impossable to find? I have 2 rifles 22 and a 308, have no problem finding 308 ammo no one has 22. I found some at a mailorder company, but willn't ship to NY. Another company had 3 pages of 22 all out of stock. Wondering whats going on with 22 ammo

One train of thought is that since our gooberment can't take our fire arms away from us, they are buying up all the ammo. Couple that with people concerned with their 2nd amendment rights and you have a scramble for ammo.

But why can I get 308 ammo. I would think a 308 would do a lot more damage then a 22. Not that government always does things that make sense.

22 is the most popular size, overall. Maybe that's why?

i know in my area some of the stores are limiting the amount to 1 box at a time.

It is definitely a NYS thing. People wait in lines around here, if any become available....

I've heard that the factories that make 22 ammo have been running 3 shifts trying to keep up with demand

Not too hard to get but Oh Man! has it gotten pricey!

Here you can not get at any price. I did find it at cheaper then dirt but they willn't mail to ny. I need 22 magnum just can't get, yet 308 no problem.

Every time there is talk about firearms and banning certain things. People stock up. And like britesea mentioned 22 is a popular size.
