And for today, at the head of Quillian bay the bears come down to tidewater at low tide looking for a meal. We were sitting in the cabin eating ourselves when this one showed up.

This group of chums (dog salmon) are making they’re way up a narrow rivulet to spawn in a smallish lake at the top and that next little bear walked right thru them to go out on this ledge for a handful of that cress.!
And NO, all the bears in Alaska aren’t vegitatians😳

Since it’s still zero here, lets look at some more ice, then get it out of our systems!

These all came from the barry arm headed toward Harriman Glacier. The little hanging glaciers are much more appealing to me than the big sprawling one at the head of the bay.

Ling cod, Silver Salmon and Halibut
The Ling was in a closed area and had to be released, The Silvers return in good numbers most years and make up a lot of our yearly fish. These are in the 8-10 pound range, and the Halibut a 60 pounder was caught by my wife while drifting around waiting for shrimp pots to soak. Upon pulling those pots we also added these shrimp to the cooler. That was a good day!

Good morning America, here’s you daily dose of Alaskana! Enjoy

A puffin who would dive for our bait while mooching salmon. You had to be quick cause they easily dive 100 ft, fast!

A commercial fisherman who’d peddled to the other side of the bay to visit someone on that thing.
I passed him slowly and noticed he was doing 5 knots, and im guessing tired when he got home.

And a really cool Yellow, double two and a half domaflotcher flower, which i actually know nothing about other than the cool part!
