On these spiderwort, are you able to collect seeds?

They form a sort of seedhead that should have 3 capsules. There would be only one seed in each capsule and is typically dark in color, but can be tan.

Ron :watering

As for the Hibiscus, no cuttings are needed; those again are something that I can obtain here and I would hate to have any shipping wasted on them. Now there could be the rare chance your Hibiscus actually creates a seedpod, and if that were to be I would love seeds! :rose

Check on the spiderwort though. This would be a good way of ensuring the survival of the white variety, by actively taking and collecting seeds.

I think they are incredible!

Ron

I also love Trilliums, do you grow those as well?

here is a double flowering Trillium

Ron i'll check into the spiderworts. i have all sorts of varieties of those and dayflowers too that are more or less considered weeds around here. i can probably find you some new mutant varieties in the cropfields that have been sprayed with roundup nd mutated into freak new varieties. ive never noticed their seeds tho i know they have to have them. i dont grow trilliums but i thought the siderwort was one?

No, I think the only thing is that they usually are grown near to each other, but I do not even think they are cousins. :hugs

I do not need daylilies...no room left in the sun. I am finding myself pushing some of my daylilies into the shadier areas because that is where you will find empty beds.

Thanks for trying though, if you do happen upon discovering how the Spiderwort is seeding I am here! LOL :frow

not daylilies, dayflowers. somebody on here was "into" those on some thread a while back. i thought it was you.

i am not finding many seeds, i think they may have mostly all dispersed already. but there are a lot of prolifs and/or i will gladly send you clumps if you are not opposed to getting live plants. shipping is not a big deal. (i understand some people only want seeds and thats cool too). its not like they will die in the mail though... ive had some laying out in the sun upside down with roots exposed to the sun all summer that are still alive..

Hi Beefy,

I will let you know once I come into a windfall; as it is right now I have to keep tabs on all my postage expenses.

I am certain you will discover seeds one day! :watering

Thanks,

Ron
