I am so shocked! Wasn't expecting that. Seems like you don't get any breaks. I hope things settle down for you and things get better.

Yes he a working kitten but he be the best mouser Rodent control
Can you prove that this kitten is a working rodent control employee in your employ ? Take scalps of the dead rodents and prove that the rodents were indeed killed by this kitten with video proof of workmanship for evidence as that may help during an audit.
At last count... there are somewhere like 14 wild ferral cats in our neighborhood. We have moles galore in my backyard with NO evidence in decrease of their population for the last 3 years. Rats and mice are in all of neighbors homes and 2 of them now pay for pest control. I use Decon in the garage and count many mouse bodies. Do you think that these cats are vegetarians or high on mary wanna as they seem to be thin but are still roaming our neighborhood looking for handouts ? Sorry to hear of your new feline friend's demise. RIP

My cats bring home all sorts of rodents to put on display for us. The day I was digging sweet potatoes I lifted the weed barrier and a few mice came running out. One cat was hanging around and immediately pounced and ate a mouse. 2 cats then hung around while I work pounceing occasional at something I could not see. Never thought of using them as a write off. They sure do eat a lot. hahahahah

I've been off-line a few days and have been catching up here on TEG.
I a SO SORRY about all that you've been dealing with this past week!!! It's just terrible.

Maybe spend the winter making a varmint-proof home for your ducks and chickens and re-order in the spring?
Hugs to you. :(
