Annette what no pickle barrel ? last month I had to explain green stamps to a group of 20 year olds. I loved going though the catalog, where you got things from the amount of filled stamp books you saved.

Green stamps were fun.

With G'parents in Tennessee, it was a hour drive by tractor/wagon one way. It was called "Center". They carried everything you could want. They paid $.02/pop bottle you brought back. Grandma made me share my loot with cousin who didn't jump off of wagon to collect bottles. Big money in 60's.

I don't know if it is better to start anew each time.

Doing so would make things more informal but there is knowledge previously shared that it would be disappointing to skip over.

Also, during these difficult days, I'm trying to bring out some continuity ... if that is the right word. The past never really goes away and there is a future. We may not want to go there just yet but imagining isn't the same as leaping into it. Besides, retro always seems popular. Imagine that, too. And, go there, as well.

No - continuing a topic is good. Especially when it's something that might be searched by a new member. :)

Someone asked about scanners overcharging - who would you go to? In the first video, there appear to be employees in the background stocking shelves and such. I suppose that you would ask them???? But, if you don't get your receipt until you leave the store, who's to say which is right - your bag or the scanner??? So... potential to steal - "It charged me for 6 sodas but I only got 1"... or did you hand the other 5 to someone waiting outside.

I'm probably just too cynical.

We don't have either Whole Foods or an Amazon store nearby ... that I'm aware of.

We do have Kroger's Fred Meyers.

Hmmm, I have to be using the parking pay machine Skidata and wondering if I can figure that out. "Okay, you just let me go and you can keep the car!"
