I like my beaten and battered hats ..

. until they shrink so much from regular washing that they make me look like Jughead in an Archie comic book.

Here's a tip... well, maybe just an idear. I was suspicious of the stain remover spray so, I rub the sweat band with shampoo. Then, it goes in the washer. Never in the dryer, in fact, I'm inclined to happily wear them to air dry.

We used to have a plastic form that you could put a cap in. It snapped around the cap, creating an exoskeleton. The idea was to put it in the dishwasher to clean. Works pretty good. I don't know what happened to that form. Hmm. Might be hidden.
