My mind is in a fog past 2 days from with drawl. My nephew who is famous for the" I ordered you something but it has not came yet" surprised me this birthday. He got me a chicken coop with run . I know they cost a few hundred, but is so small box says 8 chickens no way. Going to figure out a use for it. Can't believe he spent a lot of money and picked the right gift. He just doesn't know about chickens and believed the box

If it doesn't have a roost you can get more usage by adding some. I like my birds a bit crowded so they can keep warm in the winter. Or you can have him put on an addition.

Well you definitely have to use it. yes, take a picture and we will come up with make overs for it.

Those small coops are great for housing a bird you want to keep separate. Like a broody hen, or a new batch of chicks or even an unexpected rooster that you need to pen until you can eat it or rehome it. Then there may come a time you want to sell some chickens and want to put them somewhere smaller so they are easily caught up when the buyer comes to get them.

You may even want to turn it into a mobile bunny hutch so your bunny can get some fresh grass every day. Just put a bottom of woven wire on it so he can't dig out or a stray dog can't dig in and move it around each day.

good use too is if you have a sick/injured bird you need to separate out from the flock till they are better. i saw some cute little coops being sold in my area this summer & thought i just needed to know the prices just to see how cheap they would be. $500! looked like they could only hold about 3-4 small birds comfortably but the tiny run attached to it wasn't much bigger than the coop. it was a chinese kit so to me not really worth it.

I saw one of those little micro coop/run jobs on CL for $25! It was perfect, had been used indoors only and for a very brief time. Those are a minimum of $250 at the feed store. I didn't even bother contacting the seller because I'm sure it was scooped up within seconds of posting.

You never know. I found my 100 gallon heated waterer for $50.00 on CL. I was away and just looking through farm and garden. I asked them to hold it and they did. I felt very lucky. You know ...another man's treasure and all that.
