I haven’t even had a garden the past few years. That is sad.
My Daddy always had a garden. He loved to try new things. When the long slender eggplant showed up, he was delighted to grow it and give the eggplant away. Being the jokester that he was, he told people that it was black bananas and not to peel it, but cut in slices. He told them to dip the slices in milk and beaten egg, roll in cornmeal and fry. People loved it! Best bananas they ever had!
I love people with a good sense of humor!

a saying goes, "Never trust a skinny cook." but what would that translate into for a gardener? think about it and get back to me... :)

My last pair of "holy gloves" made me pull out of storage and use the brand new pair that I had bought, On Clearance, from Farm and Fleet. goatskin palms and aqua blue synthetic on the other side. LOVE.THEM!!! I went back and I bought four more pairs:
2 pairs for me (which gives me 3 total, but I wear My gloves out a lot faster)
2 pairs for gifting to DD's for Christmas

I wish that they had had a larger pair for eldest DD (she is 5'8" and doesn't wear "small"). But I found two pairs of gloves for her, one pair is all leather, so she can keep them in her car for an emergency, and the other pair has a velcro closure with a nice gardening print (from Farmer's Defense) for mowing, etc.
