Oh Joan, that's wretched!

Marshall may have something in that idea to re-pot the plants for a short stay in a protected environment . . . before venturing out into the open garden again.

There's that Creole heirloom tomato. Maybe that would be a good choice for you.

4 1/2 inches! Here I am complaining about getting about 4 1/2 inches over an entire month and having soil that is too wet to cultivate.

Steve :/
Steve, I have Creole in the garden and they look worse than the Amish Paste. :/ The best looking ones are called Arkansas Traveler - I'm going to leave them and see what they do. Some of the peppers still look good, so they will stay too. I really, really, don't want to start from seed again - I want to see green in my garden! I think I'll try direct sowing a couple of the AP and see what happens.

Well, Joan, maybe you will have luck with your Arkansas Traveler. I started some from seed to try last year and they were great in our unrelenting summer heat. So sorry you have such a mess on your hands. Maybe your eventual harvest will make up for the frustration!

Well, we bought some started tomatoes - San Marzano, Roma and a couple of others. We only pulled the worst looking ones and planted last night and this morning we are getting some unexpected RAIN!!! Just sprinkles, thank goodness. I think most of them will pull through if we don't get another heavy rain - my garden is still a little mushy. I plan on putting in the rest of the garden this weekend.
