You are one sweet uncle, Nyboy. I am betting that they will regret not accepting your offer. DO NOT offer them a ticket home for a funeral. Good byes should have been shared in person.

Instead of raising sheep, maybe I should raise parrots!

Our daughter wants a mini-weiner dog, and she wants a dapple. For a "pet" that you have to sign a contract for and get neutered, prices start around $800 and the sky is the limit on price!! I should fill my 8 acres with a puppy mill......

At lease yall are getting $ for what you are raising. I'm raising a steer and will have to pay someone to give him back to me as little wrapped packages PLUS buying a 2nd freezer. :th

We have 3 wether lambs already sold when they reach slaughter weight. We sell them for $8 a pound, hanging weight. We could actually make money on lambs, if we had MORE EWES!!! obviously I need more sheep!

Directly? Almost nothing. He is starting to eat more hay, and has discovered Eva's tasty feed - but doesn't eat much.
Through Eva though? It's hard to guess what part of the increase in her feed/hay is directly related to the calf and what part is just the natural increase caused by her growing. The A.I. was $100. Vaccs. and castrating was cheap - $50 if I remember right.
I don't know what the butcher will charge. My other option is to raise him to a good size and sell, then use that money to buy hay for next winter.
