I saw, a while back, on the net (somewhere) where a man had taken an old push lawnmower....fashioned a hopper chute out of some sheet metal, attached it to the top of the deck through a hole he had cut in it and had, himself, a homemade chipper. May have to try to find it, again.

Steve, this past fall I tried out some in ground composting. A first time for me. Will know how the decomposition worked when I start digging, I reckon.

Ya'll gonna think I'm REALLY nuts or EXTREMELY patient (or both).........I, even, cut individual grapes and strawberries in half. Can you tell that I REALLY love composting? LOL

Hey those grape halves are pretty chunky why not cut those grapes into quarters? :p

Seriously though if it keeps you out of trouble, or from getting down about whatever your faced with, GO FOR IT!!! Its inexpensive, highly beneficial, and takes up time that you'd otherwise need to fill, by all means CUT THE GRAPES!!!!

Only part I don't like is I wish I had that kind of time to focus on making compost.

I'd like to see a pic of your fat chickens, Boggy! You must be getting a lot of good stuff if they've burned out on eating it.

teh amount of waste a supermarket will produce i rekon could prob end peverty world wide. the council should be composting it themselves so they dont tax the resident for fertilizer for the gradens etc. they have got the chippers etc but probroblary coulnd be stuffed. they wouldnt have to worry as much about the filling lanfill to as composting green watse would make the difference

Mary........I promise that I do....and as I'm doing it, I think to myself, "I sure hope no on slips up on me and sees me doing this". (I'm VERY hearing impaired)

vegie chick.......It is unreal just how much. I whole lot of it is perfectly fine for consumption. Vegans "dumpster dive" in a lot of cities and feed themselves 100% of the time (their "statement" showing the waste of the world)

journey.......the chickens are REALLY funny acting when I take a "load" out to them.....Kinda of a chicken "Christmas morning", EVERY time. LOL

Jared....I, actually, started out doing that but it just took too much time....Hahahahahahaha.....no really, it does.
