Well I FINALLY purchased my 1st orchid

Alex likes your new plant, Carol Dee. It gives him a warm, rosy glow to see you jump into the world of orchids with us.

Let's see, I brought Alex home on February 7, 2016. I am rather amazed that I haven't killed Alex off yet and look at how wonderful Alex is still looking after nearly 3 months.

Alex is looking good @Smart Red I found @Larisa 's post on how to care for orchids so I hope to keep mine blooming and thriving. the photo makes it appear more yellow. It is a cool lime green.

That's three months so far and Alex hasn't lost a single flower yet.

Why did I always hear that raising orchids was difficult and only for professionals with special equipment?

Hey, that photo turned out pretty cool. It looks like the moon rising over Alex in the window. However did the moon get there?

People think orchids are expensive, but when you figure number of weeks it flowers ( florist cut flowers last 1 week) it comes to very small amount compared to a vase of florist flowers. Getting them to rebloom can be a challenge, but I treat as annuals.
